Product Name: 5 Swiss Francs Coin – 1874
Description :
The room of 5 Swiss francs issued between 1850 and 1886, known as the "Assisi Helvetia", is a historical coin of the Swiss Confederation. Minted in 900 ‰ silver, original it weighs 25 grams and measure 37 mm in diameter, with a thickness of 2.35 mm. Round in shape, and was demonetized on February 1, 1934.
Obverse: The piece represents Helvetia, a female allegory of Switzerland, seated in a mountainous landscape. She is crowned, wearing a toga, holding a shield decorated with the Swiss cross in her left hand, and pointing with her right hand towards the horizon. The inscription "HELVETIA" appears above, with the signature of the engraver "A. BOVY" on the left. The drawing is the work of Friedrich Fisch, and the engraving was done by Antoine Bovy.
Reverse: The reverse displays the nominal value "5 Fr." and the year of minting, surrounded by a crown formed by an edelweiss branch and an oak branch, tied with a ribbon. The mint letter "B" at the bottom indicates the mint of Bern. The drawing and engraving are also attributed to Friedrich Fisch And Antoine Bovy, respectively.
Slice : The edge of the coin is striated.
