Product Name: 5 Swiss Francs Coin Schaffhausen – 1865
Description :
The commemorative coin of 5 Swiss francs issued in 1865 celebrates the Federal shooting from this year to Schaffhausen. Struck in 900 ‰ silver, originally it weighs 25 grams and measure 37 mm in diameter. Round in shape, and was demonetized on January 31, 1934.
Obverse: The coin features the coat of arms of Schaffhausen, surrounded by the inscription "EIDGENÖSSISCHES SCHÜTZENFEST IN SCHAFFHAUSEN 1865" (Federal Shooting Festival in Schaffhausen 1865). The face value "5 Fr." is indicated at the bottom. The engraver of this side is Antoine Bovy.
Reverse: The reverse features a seated female figure, personifying Helvetia, holding a laurel wreath and accompanied by a child carrying an apple pierced by an arrow, symbolizing William Tell. This side was also engraved by Antoine Bovy.
Slice : The edge of the coin is striated.
