Product Name: 5 Swiss Francs Coin Bern – 1857
Description :
The commemorative coin of 5 Swiss francs issued in 1857 celebrates the Federal shooting from this year to Bern. Struck in 900 ‰ silver, original it weighs 25 grams and measure 37 mm in diameter. Round in shape, and is now demonetized.
Obverse: The coin features two crossed rifles with a radiant Swiss cross in the background, surrounded by an oak and laurel wreath. The inscription "EIDGENÖSSISCHES FREISCHIESSEN IN BERN 1857" appears around it, with the denomination "5 FRANKEN" at the bottom. The engraver of this side is Ferdinand Korn.
Reverse: The reverse depicts a standing Swiss soldier facing left, wearing the traditional uniform with sword, dagger, amulet and plumed hat, holding a long rifle by the barrel in his left hand. The inscription "EHRE IST MEIN HOECHSTES ZIEL." (Honor is my highest goal) is arranged around it, with the signature "KORN" at the bottom, attributing the engraving to Ferdinand Korn.
Slice : The edge of the coin is striated.
