Product Name: 2 Swiss Francs Coin – 1862
Description :
The 2 Swiss franc coin issued between 1860 and 1863 is a historical currency of the Swiss Confederation. Struck in silver at 80 0 ‰ , it originally weighs 10 grams and measures 27 mm in diameter, with a thickness of 2.15 mm. Round in shape, it has a coinage orientation and was demonetized on December 31, 1877.
Obverse: The coin depicts Helvetia seated, facing left, wearing a laurel wreath and a toga, with her right arm raised. In her left hand she holds a shield bearing the coat of arms of Switzerland. A plough and ears of wheat are visible on the right, with mountains in the background. The inscription "HELVETIA" appears on this side. The design is by Friedrich Fisch, and the engraving was by Ferdinand Korn.
Reverse: The reverse shows the nominal value "2 Fr." and the year of minting, surrounded by a wreath composed of oak branches and alpine roses, tied by a ribbon at the base. The letter "B" indicates the mint of Bern. The design and engraving are also attributed to Friedrich Fisch and Ferdinand Korn.
Slice : The edge of the coin is grooved.
